Former Marine Designs Rashguards Made from Anti-Snag, 100% Mesh, UPF 50 Fabrics for Female Military, EMTs, Law Enforcement, and Explorers
Salt Lake City, UT (July 18, 2022) – Following the successful launch of the Valkyrie Field Pants for women, KADRI Clothing today introduced Soteria Rashguards, thin performance shirts that are anti-snag so they can be worn under heavy, thicker protective gear including plate carriers and packs, with UPF protection for arms and shoulders for extended exposure to the sun in the field.
The Soteria Rashguard is a polyester/spandex blend that offers supreme protection from skin abrasion and sun exposure. This exceptional Italian fabric is moisture wicking, quick drying with a durable stretch for full range of motion and ease of movement.
Four unique designs inspired by women in military, law enforcement and first responders, and those who seek adventure by water and mountains.
The main body fabric is available in Mil Green, Duty Black and Waterway designs and has an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of 50, while the mesh side panels rate UPF 30. The body fabric is anti-snag and pill resistant, providing durability under body armor, vests and packs, or against surfboards. The Explorer design consists of 100% mesh UPF30 for those in hotter climates or those not needing anti-snag material.
Soteria Rashguards are designed to fit snug against the skin to aid in protection. The Rashguards are dyed, cut and sewn in the United States using imported Italian fabric.
Protecting skin from sun exposure, brass burn and abrasions is extremely important in the field. KADRI Clothing founder, Katheryn Basso said, “We are talking weeks and months in the field. We can't have sun-burned or brass-burned skin. Also scrapes and scratches can get infected, so we need to protect it from harsher nylon on packs and body armor. Practically speaking, we must protect our skin to optimize our capability.”
The Soteria Rashguards were designed to complement the functionality and durability of the Valkyrie Field Pants. The Rashguards were field tested on hikes, under packs, on the range, and in the ocean to make sure the material withstood the toughest demands.

UPF vs. SPF
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly.
Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, is based on the time it takes for UV-exposed skin to redden; if you burn after 20 minutes, if used correctly, an SPF 15 sunscreen may protect your skin 15 times longer.
